About Bethel
The History: 1975- 2025, 50 years of God’s Grace

Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church, a multicultural Haitian American congregation in Miami, Florida, was established in the early 1970s to serve the spiritual needs of the growing Haitian community. Initially formed as the Haitian Christian Society in 1975, the church became Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church in 1978 and has since grown significantly under various leaders, including Rev. St. Louis Felix, who served as senior pastor from 1980 to 2015. During his tenure, Bethel expanded its facilities, transitioning to its current location at 17601 NW 2nd Avenue in 2005, marking its 30th anniversary. In 2016, Rev. Dr. Keny Felix, the son of Pastor Felix, became Senior Pastor, leading alongside a dedicated pastoral team. Today, Bethel continues to thrive, serving as a spiritual and community hub for South Florida and beyond.

Our Mission and Statement of Faith
We exist to fulfill the Great Commission and live out the Great Commandment as stated in the following verses:

The Great Commission: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28 v. 19 and 20 (NIV)

The Great commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’’ Matthew 22 v 37 & 39 NIV). We endeavor to be a useful tool in God’s hands to expand his kingdom on the earth. We desire to impact our world for the glory of God our Father.
