Our Pastoral Staff
Rev. Dr. Keny Felix, Senior Pastor
Dr. Keny Felix and his wife, Esther, returned to Bethel after serving seven years as a dean, professor, and licensed professional counselor at Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta, Georgia. Previously the Pastor to Students and English Congregation at Bethel from 2002-2008, Dr. Felix also served as Associate Pastor of Ebenezer Haitian Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA, from 1999-2002. He also worked previously as Director of Ministries at Touching Miami With Love, Inc., a writer for the Miami Herald, and as a guidance counselor for the Broward County School Board.
Dr. Keny is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Economics and his Master of Science in Education in School Counseling. He then went on to complete a Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and his Ph.D. in Psychology and Counseling at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Apart from his new pastoral role, as a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, Dr. Felix runs a limited private counseling practice assisting individuals, couples, and families discover effective solutions to life’s challenges and continues to serve as an adjunct professor with Richmont.
He and Esther have been married for over 14 years. Esther attended Nova Southeastern University. She worked as a charter school teacher before together making the decision to serve as a stay-at-home mom. The two are the proud parents of Caleb, Joshua, Rachel, Elisabeth and Ezra, Elijah and Hannah.
Rev. St. Louis Felix, Pastor Emeritus
Rev. St. Louis Felix, accompanied by his wife Nazette, served as the Senior Pastor of Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church for over 35 years before honored and be declared Pastor Emeritus of Bethel on December 27, 2015. Born in Beaumont, Haiti, in 1934, Rev. Felix began his ministry in Haiti serving as a pastor and teacher in various Baptist churches, including in Fond du Caque, Pestel, Baraderes, DesChamps, Leon, Dame Marie, and Saint-Louis-du-Sud from 1953 to 1961. He then served Premiere Eglise des Cayes et de Jeremie (First Baptist Church of Cayes and Jeremie) from 1961 to 1969 before becoming one of the first Haitian missionaries to serve overseas.
Rev. Felix began his tenure as senior pastor of Bethel on April 12, 1980, joined by his wife and six children—Ketelen, Dony, Garlene, Nanslie, Keny, and Guerdy. He then began leading the young congregation through multiple transitions, including the growth of various ministries, launch of several mission churches and two relocations. Prior to Bethel, Rev. Felix, and his wife Nazette, served as missionaries in Guadeloupe from 1969 to 1980, ministering to Guadeloupian and Haitian communities. Overall, Rev. Felix has served over 65 years in the ministry, including 52 years together with wife.
Rev. Alain Boucard, Pastor of Adult Discipleship and Outreach
Rev. Alain Boucard first joined Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church in the early 1990s after moving from Brooklin, New York to South Florida. He has served as Director of the Sunday School Department since 1994, guiding the church’s Christian education program. Rev. Alain joined the pastoral staff in 2000 after his ordination as a minister. His responsibilities have included conducting outreach activities, overseeing the development of adult education and engaging members in mission efforts in Haiti.
Rev. Boucard has served as an aircraft technician for American Airlines since 1986. He is a graduate of the College of Aeronotics. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1982-1986. He completed his Bachelor of Theology in 2002 from National Bible College.
Rev. Boucard is married to Auldith Vilson and they are both serving diligently in the ministry. Auldith has been leading our Senior Citizens Ministry and continues to serve in various capacities. The two are proud parents and grandparents of Ariel Eugene and Cliff Eugene, and Ava and Austin Eugene.
Rev. Clement Chery, Pastor to Students & Administration
Rev. Clement Chery and his wife, Nanslie, returned to Bethel after living eight years in Atlanta, Georgia. During this time Rev. Clement and his wife served as mission team Leaders, taking close to 200 American missionaries to Haiti on short term mission trips. Previously, Rev. Clement served Bethel as Sunday School teacher (2000 to 2007) and Chair of the Finance Committee (2004 to 2007). He also served as the youth ministry leader and Sunday School teacher at “L’eglise Baptist D’expression Francaise” de St. Louis, MO. Rev. Clement currently serves as Child Sponsorship Spokesperson for Compassion International and a chaplain for the US Air Force.
Rev. Clement is a graduate of the University of Miami, where he obtained a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering. He went on to complete a Master of Engineering Management at Florida International University. He has also completed a Master of Divinity at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
His wife, Nanslie, completed her undergraduate studies at Florida International University, and her graduate studies at Florida Atlantic University. She has served in various capacities through the years, specifically with the Children’s Ministry and the Youth and Young Adult Choirs. She currently works as a High School teacher. At Bethel, Nanslie currently serves as the Children’s Ministry Director and is on the leadership team of the Women’s Ministry.
